Emergent Ensemble
With Prodigal Theatre and the Urban Playground Team
In this contract, I will be mentored under the guidance of international theatre, dance and performance company Prodigal UPG, collaborating as a company member in their Urban Playground Team’s new emerging artist ensemble. Over a 9 month contract, myself and 5 other new artists will:
- Receive conservatoire standard training in the company techniques:
Release based dance & somatic movement
Physical theatre
Voice
Performance-parkour
Ensemble devising and performing
- Co-create a company show and tour it to community settings
- Co-curate, plan, and support delivery of a festival of outdoor performance in Par Bay
- Receive mentoring/direction on creating our own small outdoor performances
- Perform these short works at the festival
- Receive support & mentoring on touring
- Shadow and co-deliver engagement and participation work with community participants
- Access masterclasses with various Prodigal collaborators
- Receive 2 x 1 hour 1-2-1 artist development support sessions with the Hall For Cornwall team, where ProdigalUPG are associate artists
