Write On
Writing workshops and networking sessions for isolated Cornish creatives.
When the first lockdown hit, the theatre and entertainment industry, and all its freelance workers and creatives, were hit hard. As a highly collaborative person who values interaction with other artists, I found myself struggling to stay creative and maintain motivation. I figured I was not alone in this, and after virtually connecting with Joel Nash through a Hall for Cornwall and Feast 'Cuppa Culture' session, discovered our mutual feeling of isolation could be rectified.
So was born 'Write On', a space for any and all Cornish or Cornwall connected creatives to engage with other artists and maybe write something. One of the key objectives of this group is for it to be community led, so whilst Joel and I facilitate and run the sessions, we actively encourage our members to direct the group in a way that suits them best. We welcome everyone, from complete beginners to well established writers and hope to facilitate a safe space to experiment and play.
Some of our members are working on short scenes and extracts to be read and performed in collaboration with the Hall for Cornwall's 'Play Club' in July 2021.
