Theatre with Teeth

2017-2020

I dedicated the majority of my extra curricular time at University to Theatre with Teeth, leading to my election as Artistic Director in 2019. The company's ethos of inclusivity, innovation and experimentation align with my own core values within theatre and I aimed to maintain the company's high standard of work.

My personal responsibilities included the executive decision making on the strategic and creative direction of the company; overseeing the financial position of the company in conjunction with the society's treasurer; representing the company at a number of events, including sitting on the executive presidents committee for Theatre at Exeter; liaising extensively with numerous venues and partnered companies for various services, negotiating costs and ensuring the paramount safety of my society members in external events; complying with the regulations issued by the Student's Guild governing body with risk assessments, budgets (and contingencies), and codes of conduct; and, demonstrating a high level of personability to remain approachable to my committee, my creative/production teams, and other member of the society and wider Theatre at Exeter community.

Highlight and achievements of the year include:
- 2 x 24 hour play events, each with up to 120 audience members
- the development of our 'Bite' and 'OverBite' workshops for new and experienced writers
- 2-in-1 scratch night to perform rehearsed reading from our 'Bite' workshop writers and a scratch version of our 2020 Edinburgh Fringe production
- 'Duet', a new full-length play by James Murphy, directed by Suzie Bramwell
- 'My Mother: The Stranger', a new short play written by Emma Ingledew, directed by Katerina Zoob (cancelled due to Covid)
- 'I was Born in the Dark' a sensory experience about blindness, created by India Dillon (cancelled)
- 'Me, Myself, Myself, Myself, Myself...' our new, developed play due to perform Greenside @ Infirmary Street Edinbugh Fringe 2020 (postponed to 2021 due to Covid)
